Feb 15, Business Recorder Food ministry genetically protect cottonseed from viruses
Ministry of Food has started setting up an institute to genetically improve the cottonseed an institute named 'State of Art' is being established at Central Cotton Research Institute (CCRI) to be completed in 2011", the sources disclosed. Foreign experts would also be invited to conduct researches in order to genetically develop the cottonseed. The government has invested Rs 393 million in a five-year project to genetically improve the cottonseed in order to make it resistible against the viral attacks and infections.
